Hey guys,

I just picked up a bunch of lead bars marked with 111 from the National Lead Company. I figured that when I could get online I could figure out what they are. Well no luck.

So I turn to your vast knowledge. Please inform this poor soul as to what he has found.

Thank you,

Adam R. Smith

Are those bars long & thin?
All I can do is guess, that those are solder bars. I recall Pittsburg Paints owned by National Lead Co. These were sold in the paint line for lead solder fill joints. Remember the old cars had lead joint- rocker panel, roof, quarter panel joints.
I don't know the break down, but remember using 50-50 & 60-40.

That's my guess.............

Seems to me 60-40 Tin/lead? Do a search and someone answered that question for me not too long ago.
