What was the type of buttplate used in this era on a standard model 94? I receiver one as payment for some work and can tell the buttplate isn’t original. First clue was it doesn’t fit and when I removed it there are three sets of screw holes. I can repair the extra holes just need to know the correct replacement to look for. Also if anyone might have an extra correct replacement part I would be interested.
Thanks

My 1954 vintage has a steel checkered buttplate; slightly curved.

.

Your Model 94 would have been issued with a flat checkered steel BP (below)

Thanks for the replies, the checkered steel was what I thought would be correct from looking at pics on the sale sites. I just don’t have the books or a similar vintage rifle to compare with and knew someone here would know. Now to hunt one down and a steel receiver sight to make this 70 year old Model 94 look comple.

My pre-1948 (I estimate 1945 based on interpolated serial numbers) buttplate looks like this:

My all-original 1949 build Model 94 has a butt plate exactly like that shown by Pietro
