I am using the individual forum titles as the monthly topics (going from the top down).

I will start it off with my left hand flintlock rifle. 45 Caliber, Dixie Gun Works brand. It was made many years ago by a company in Japan for DGW. I do take it out to shoot from time to time too. I made a leather sheath carry cover for it and a leather accouterments bag for it too. I pretty much have all the goodies and tools and stuff in the bag for it. It would probably cost a small fortune to make a leather carry cover for it today. But at the time I remember seeing mountain men and hunters in that era carrying their rifles in a leather carry case before too. I also made a frizzen cover for it as well. Yes it does have set triggers on it too. I think that it was made by Miroku in Japan and imported by DGW. It is a 1970's or 1980's vintage rifle.

The notches on the 1860 were on there when I acquired it at auction years ago.

............. A long range match type rifle (Gibbs Type) built from a kit Pecantonica used to offer. The barrel is a Green Mountain 34" long 45 cal with an 18" twist.

The original tang was too short for a vernier sight. I cut it off and welded on a longer piece then filed it to shape. Welded on the lug, then welded on a modified base to an Italian sight.

The front sight was a spare from a Swede AG42B. Since it was windage adjustable it suited as a front sight for this type rifle. Filed the base to fit the barrel and silver soldered it on.

On the left are swaged 560gr patched cup based HP slugs, and on the right are 580gr cup based solids that have to be patched. Made up using RCE dies and press.

Good morning
For a long while had been looking for an "affordable" double flintlock to use hunting. Finally found a Belgium double that no one was interested in. Bought it mainly for the heavy wall barrels to use for round ball shooting.
Changed out the locks with a L&R set. Reseated the barrel in the stock and went to the range. 50 yard target both barrels same load.

Then decided it was time to work on shot loads. Did some pattern and load work and went to the proving ground.

Took along a single barrel caliber 60 Trade gun in case the double flintlock gave me fits. They both did their job well. Two shots from each and two good crows.
Last time north I added wood around the locks and refinished stock with linseed oil.
Next time north will reshape the wrist area and other stock areas.

Very nice. That would be something to hunt with. You are lucky to be in Peru. Nice people, amazing scenery in the altiplano. Looks like Western U.S. but with flamingos in the rivers. Miss the Inca Cola

Here is my newest - 40 caliber, A weight swamped barrel, large Siler lock, AA wood. Tennessee Valley Muzzleloaders made it for me.

Nothing like waiting 'till the last minute. Here's my Centennial Arms 1860-1960 New Army. Made in Belgium.
This one is the third model made in 1969 (I think). It is unfired in a faux marble case. I have two other 1860's that I do shoot.240762

This is the 2nd firearm I ever purchased. 1st was a Colt Navy replica. This rifle was made by a gentleman in Ames, Iowa in 1964. It is his own design. It's a .45 caliber round ball shooter, with Redfield sights and in in-line action. The stock is the most perfect fit of any rifle I have ever held. However, cleaning it is a total nightmare so it is spending it's days in retirement, though I long to fire it once again. It is shown with its matching powder horn.

This is a Lyman Plains Rifle from 1994 that I picked up this summer while cleaning up a friends estate. It has never been fired. .50 caliber.

This wonderful Johnathan Browning Mountain Rifle followed me home tonight. I have been wanting one since around 1980. This one is a 1997 production, new in the box with papers. .50 caliber. It's pretty and too nice to shoot.
This particular rifle was at Cabala's in Owatonna Minnesota with a $1900.00 price tag on it. It had been there far longer than I knew of as I offered then .40 cents on the dollar and they jumped on my offer.
This is another of those rifles I had been lusting for since the late 1970's. Now, I cross it off my bucket list.

The Roman nose percussion is a C. Kemper of Jasper, In. Douglas barrel, Hamm lock
The SxS is a CVA .50 double rifle
