Had to refill my #10 CO2 tank.
Cheapest I could find was $50.
Good thing is it was filled while I waited. About 10 minuites.
Lucky the tank didn't need hydro test. $75
What are the prices down in the lower 48.
I'm thinking because we're higher up, they charge more. :-x

If you're not a commercial/credit account customer spending several hundred or more dollars a month-

It's like going to the parts dept. of a car dealership. Just go ahead and plan to get ripped off.

While I was still working, we didn't pay much more than that to fill a big, 300 cu.ft. 'K' cylinder.
That's those ones about five feet tall that ya can barely lift off the ground.
And that was delivered on one day notice, with a 'swap out'.

Hydro-stat. was never an issue, since it was their $400 or so dollar tank we rented for $15 a month.

Even way out there in the unexplored regions of 'Not Texas",
your prices shouldn't be that far off from ours unless they have to ship gasses in from Calif.
But if there is a gas plant nearby, it should be priced similar to ours.
With a gas plant,,, they just get most of those common gases out of the air. CO2, Oxygen, Nitrogen, etc.

I keep one in the race trailer, and I think it was around $20 the last time, maybe a year or two ago.

We're always getting ripped off here.
I found a place that might be able to hydro some old tanks i have.
He does scuba tanks.
He said if it will fit in the machine, He can do it for $30.
I'm going to have to check him out.

Might try asking a home brew shop. They fill tanks for home keg setups.

$40 for 20 pounds at my local fire extinguisher shop. But he has a monopoly... only guy who will refill my beer co2 within 60 miles... several will exchange tanks but I have a nice 20# aluminum tank I am not swapping for some rusty crappy steel tank!

It's been a couple of years ago, but if I remember correctly, it was $24 for a 20# swap at the local gas cylinder supplier. They don't look at the date so I don't have to pay for hydro testing. The fire extinguisher place charges about $10 more.

One suggestion, if your local gas station or convenience store sells sodas, they can often handle a swap for good customers.

Do you have any paintball fields or stores around you? You can definitely pick up a fill there for relatively cheap. What are you using the CO2 for?

Use the CO2 for MIG welding.
I have found it works best for me.
I tried the mix, and didn't notice any difference.
CO2 much cheaper.
