I've not done a lot of hunting this year yet, due to some eyesight issues set for resolution near-term. I did see hunters afield today in the Eastern Sierra, rifle deer opened a week ago and quail/chukar opened today. Missing the openers hurts like h---. I did a bit of fishing (and about froze my aspirations off) today, and on the trip home saw a couple tule elk near Bigpine HAULING A-- getting away from someone or something. I think that season is open, too. Man, elk are big critters--and they can honk it on when the need arises.

Actually, there are so many deer, they are pretty much the same size. They have gotten smaller over the years and need thinned big time. Years ago I shot several does that went over 200# but no more.
No acorns this year either. She was full of grass with a few corn kernals.

Yes, she is very happy. She came over with her sister and helped cut it up. They shared the meat. She also brings me freezer wrap and tape. It looks like they want two more this year too.
I hunt her property, she has 32 acres full of deer. I am the only one allowed and can bring my friends. I can also hunt most of the surrounding properties, all with too many deer.
I am relaxing for a few days, too lazy to get up or butcher. :bigsmyl2:

I actually met two of my friends right here and one lives 5 minutes away.
