I ordered a 308 Savage axis and I was looking for some help with what Lee bullet mold would be good and what size of sizing die to get since I will be powder coating and not gas checking. I have a Lee DC C312-185-1R that I cast for my 303 British and size to 311.
Thank you in advance for any help I may get.

I use the Lee c309-170-rf in a ruger american predator.
309 sized.
Gas check and powder coat or liquid alox

I used that same Lee bullet Grumpy mentioned to kill deer with my 30-30. I sized it to 309 and got adequate accuracy. One deer at 140 yards. Don't know about the length for a bolt action but I crimped it in the crimp groove and used a flat nose punch for the nose for the 30-30. It was a very good 30cal bullet. I used Lee Liquid Alox for lube and regular alox in the grooves. I was able to drive it at around 2000 fps. That's about a much as one wants to drive a cast bullet although a 308 could probably push it a little faster.
