I see our friends at Night Owl have a SWC listed that looks interesting to try out in a muzzle loader. It's listed as 502-404-swc. Do you suppose a 1-48 twist would stabilize it?

A 1-48 will shoot this bullet just fine! I bought a 3 banger when they were on sale. With straight lead it drops .503 and 407grs for weight. I can thumb start these in both my T/C's. I couldn't begin to use the Lyman #508656. They were just to chubby for my bores. I went to the range today and set up my chronograph. Using the loads in the last Lyman manual my rifles matched their data for the #508656. This is a good horsepower bullet for Elk and Bear without beating your shoulder up.

looking at the drawing for it , it sure looks a lot like the 410gr hornady FN Great plains bullets I used to like that they discontinued about 2005.

shot a deer end to end with that bullet with 90gr 777

It does. These shoot as well as anything I've used before.
