Picked up an old Pacific press a while back at a local auction for $8.00 and decided that it would be perfect to mount upside down as a sizing press. So...after a little scrubbing, paint, and some scrap oak I have a nice little boolit sizing press for my Lee dies.
Next up, make a feed tube for it. 238096

kinda fixed it

If you are mounting your press upside down, I would worry if the pictures are sideways.

That's a good idea for the older Pacific with the up stroke linkage. I think it's a better idea than using the Lee

I was given advice on what to do to make uploaded picture "right side up" here:

See post #11 by Hickory, for how it was solved for me.:

As far as the new" used" press. Looks great & I hope it works out for ya , right side up or upside down.

The picture was worth turning sideways to view.

Excellent wood work! …….and restoration.

I have this Pacific "C" press that I was going to use on a donor project. That's now going to be the RC Jr 2
I'll have to rig up a boolit catcher of sorts, but that should be relatively simple.

Didn't you paint it the wrong color? Shouldn't it be either Black, if its a real old one, or Blue? Or was it painted to match your red output tray? In either case you did an excellent job on both the old press and the oak mount for it. Good Job.

It was originally blue but all I had was red paint on hand :)

What do they call the metal rail that is your boolit catch tray holder?

Nice job! Impressive finished product!

Looks good, but I have always wondered why folks talk about upside down presses for sizing. What am I missing?

Using the NOE or Lee push through sizers you have the bullets dropping into a container and it's much easier to size nose first.

Poor mans Star sizer for coated bullets.

Not sure what they call it. I picked it up at Menards.

Interesting, why is it easier? Not pushing on the previously sized bullet?

Easier to drop the bullet in the hole than to center it on the peg and guide it in.

Correct. No more trying to balance bullets on a metal post.

Ahh, makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.
