Lone wolf and Alpha wolf barrels have tighter shorter chambers and I'd like to hear from anyone that is running 147+ grain boolits in one. The alpha wolf barrels are hardened and require carbide to be reamed/honed so if you know someone that has that capability I guess that'd be good to know also. Thanks for your thoughts!

While I have not shot using those barrels in what im assuming is a Glock, the Elco boolit offered at NOE is what you are after. it is designed as a heavy for 9mm pistols with short throats. I shoot sized to .358, lubed with Lyman Orange Magic, weighing 151-152 with WW alloy in hollow point form, all over 2.8 to 3.0 grains of Red Dot.

I read that it was designed to be loaded long for more powder room. I had to work up a new load for the shorter oal when I went to a LW barrel from stock Glock, but I've got no personal experience with any heavy boolits and I've read great things about that one. I appreciate the response.

Head to NOE's website. It'll show a diagram with measurements. It has a stepped nose which allows the longer OAL. Its just a bout the only boolit I shoot in 9mm now. I have used it in stock Glock barrels for a 17L, 19, and a 26 as well as a Walther PPS M2, all with polygonal rifling with no leading.

Has anyone used the elco in a lone wolf barrel?

I run 145-147 in several AW bbls, no issues. You have a bit shorter throat but just shorten up your OAL & adjust the powder charge accordingly. I run the Bayou 145gr & my own 147gr RN by Saeco.

My G34 wolf don't like RNs, but eats heavy LRFNs (147-160g) & medium TCs (125-135g).
I plunk test them rather than use case gage.
