I'll be off to the Doctors office in a little while to start a new MS treatment. This is an infusion administered by IV that takes 6 or 8 hours. Along with the drug will be large doses of Benadryl and Steroids. Not looking forward to laying still for that long but these treatments are only every 6 months. It will be good to get away from the shots 3 times a week or the oral medicine taken every day.

Wish me Luck. Maybe even a Prayer if you are so inclined.

Prayers for you brother. I had to watch my Mom deal with MS and type 1 diabetes for 41 years before cancer finally took her miseries away., at 93.
You hang tough and have faith that it can be beat.

Thanks Guys. I'm here and all hooked up. I was told that they had WiFi so I took my lap top along with a book. I was worried that they might have had Cast Boolits blocked but it appears to be working well. I'm in a nice comfortable recliner, the Nurses are friendly and professional and I'm logged on here so all is well.

Lightman, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this very moment. I pray that this procedure makes your life easier and less painful. I complain about my own medical issues but at my age (78) all is manageable. Keep us posted on the success of this new treatment for you.

Good luck bro.
If I was closer, I'd smuggle ya in a bottle of Whiskey.
I got kicked out of the big Naval hospital at Bethesda for doing that, but I've improved my methods.

Lightman Keep me posted how it works for you. The pills dint work for me and I would love to get away from the 3 times a week shots also. Ive been doing the injections since 2002. A girl my daughter went to school with did the stem cell thing for her MS a couple years ago but haven't heard of much improvement. AM thinking of you and hoping this helps. With the steroids have plenty of food handy. LOL

Hoping your day goes as well as possible considering what you're doing and that Castboolits is helping pass the time. Prayers sent for the treatment to heal you.

Lightman I visit an infusion center periodically for Non-hogdon lymphoma. Get lots of benedryl and steroids. You did good to take your lap top and book. Sleep a lot. Talk to your nurse about getting an allergic reaction. I didn't got one and didn't know it for awhile. Then I became the center of attention for awhile. The benedryl nd steriods are to prevent a reaction but they do occur. Your nurse can tell you how you might feel if you get a reaction. Not the end of the world if you do get a reaction but the sson you tell them what is going on the sooner they can treat it. My experience has been that the nurses in the infusion center are very careing people that want to help you. Hopefully you will have a similar experience. Good luck. May your treatment be sucessful.

Thanks for the kind words and prayers everybody. I'm finished and on the way home. It wasn't too bad. I was warned about reactions and I did have a spell of itching and being flushed on my neck, upper back and upper chest. The whole precess did leave me kind of weak. They told me about this before we started so it was not unexpected. I'll go back in 2 weeks for another dose and if I tolerate that one ok then I'll have the whole treatment next time, in 6 months. My Wife drove home and I was week enough that I didn't get out and pick up the wheel weight that I saw at the intersection!

Anyway, Thanks again for thinking about me. Your words meant a lot.

God's blessings on you for the new treatment and the new schedule. Now the burning question in my mind is:Did you go back and get the wheel weights?

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers Guys! I tolerated this one ok so I'll go back in a week and a half for another go. Then it will be every 6 months. All of these treatments have some potentially serious side effects and I was kind of worried. Thanks again!

Great that all is OK so far, continuing prayers. I've heard administering slowly lessens the side effects. Sis-IL is getting the slow chemo stuff to avoid drastic effects.

Morning everyone. Shortly I'll be headed back to the Doctors office for the second half of this treatment. If I tolerate it ok I'll get the next full one in 6 months. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

Drive safely; keep us posted; and we will keep the prayers flying your way! Father, thank You for allowing lightman to tolerate his first treatment. Thank You Father for what You do. Now we are praying for lightman's healing. Father, I know that You are walking with lightman and I pray that You allow him to completely recover! AMEN

Thanks Guys. I'm here and all hooked up and my computer logged onto their WiFi just fine. The same friendly Nurse that was here last time is taking care of me again this time. The Wife dropped me off and went to pick up a few things for our kitchen remodel. You'all take care.

lightman I am praying here for the total success of your treatments and that the negative side effects will not happen, and that only the positive ones will be present. I was thinking of you as the linemen just left us a few moments ago. The squirrels put us in the dark this morning and the linemen were here within 35 minutes to restore us. Good service since we are in the country and there is some drive time to get to us. Try to settle in and enjoy the day as best you can and know that the Lord has your back on this.

Thanks Guys! I'm finished and at home. Everything went smoothly and I won't have to do it again for 6 months. I'm kind of weak and wimpy right now but that was expected. Prolly lay around for the rest of the day and be lazy!
