Hello. Long time member, but I just found out I haven't logged in for nine years!! I have acquired a few molds over the years that are not the actual sized marked on the blocks. What do you guys do with them? Any chance of returning them? I was shooting a .308 win the other day, and it leaded badly. The bore has been slugged @.308. When I got home I measured a unlubed bullet...... .305!

You have a few options If you can't return the mold.

casting with different alloys and temperatures will give you different diameter boolits from the same mold.

opt.1 powdercoat the boolit to get a larger size

opt 2 leement (polish) the boolit mold cavities to a larger size

opt 3 beagle the mold

all three of these options can be found in the search box.

(As people madly search for that undersized Lyman they threw in a corner.)

I think theres a couple guys that can make the drive bands on your mold bigger too. Maybe someone will chime in who they are

Thanks all. I think I will try powder coating again. I did a batch about 5 years ago, with some cheap powder and they didn't turn out well. Ill try a better grade.

when I first tried powder coating I bought harbor freight and I just don't think cheap kinds are worth it now since cost per bullet is extremely small either way.

Not sure of your alloy but if .305 someone with a 7.35 Carcano might want it to size down.
