Basic fundamentals look sound, but hard to beat "hands on" classes.

.............I've not had any classes. It was something in the genes and, read, read, read, look at pictures, read, ask questions, doing, trying, more reading and looking at pictures :-).

As Jon K said, the 'doing' was the most edjumakashunal.

Nope, lathe is on the back burner.
Car repairs for the son, annnnnnd...................just bought a thuddy thuddy.......couldn't pass it up. Sears model 54(Win 94 in disguise) cute looking thing.

Nice old lever Jon.

Well hands on would be best, but no hands on guidence around here. I think for $50 some bucks for a rental, it may be well worth the price to help move me on my way if they are as good as the reviews say.

Read the MSC catalog! I am amazed at what I've learned there. Also amazed at how much reading that costs (LOL).

Find the how to book by south bend, logan, old audels follow the pictures for tool grinding. All this for around $10.00. JerryW
