I have 2 just like that, both made by Iver Jonhson, who made them for anyone willing to purchase enough of them to have their name stamped on them, I have seen hundreds here in KY with Belknap Hardware stamped on them, that were made by IJ. Good dependable old guns, bought my first one when I was16, had the barrel cut off at 24" by a gentleman who was rumored to run a moonshine still. It had no choke, so digging thru a bunch of old tools, I found a huge pipe cutter, and removed the cutting blad, and used this to put a roll crimp on the last 2 inches of barrel. Would shoot a tight 6" pattern at about 20 yds after that, and you had to keep a squirrel at about 40+yards or it would look like a meat grinder had ahold of it.

Other than kicking like a Mississippi Valley mule, how does it shoot?

Other than kicking like a Mississippi Valley mule, how does it shoot?I havent shot it! Was in an estate, on my wifes side. Didnt even know it was in a closet.
Im into Civil War collecting, no hunting for me anymore. I have plenty of shotguns, and an Iver Johnson similar to it also.
So, figured someone else could use it.
