Apparently, the cost of posting a letter will increase ten percent on Sunday (27 January 2019) from fifty cents to fifty-five cents! Other service rates also are being changed -- you can read about it at: https://blog.stamps.com/2018/10/19/usps-announces-postage-rate-increase-starts-january-27-2019/
If I can make it to Post Office (ice, snow, and more ice :( ) -- I plan on purchasing a couple rolls of stamps. As I just became aware of this by chance -- announcer on local radio station -- I thought I'd share.

Bummer. Not too happy with the USPS right now anyway. Mailed a check for my phone bill in the box at the PO on 29 Dec. Stamped, return address and address showing. 25 Jan here and I haven't heard anything and the check to AT&T is uncashed.
Guess it costs more to lose a letter nowadays./beagle

I pay all my bills electronically through my bank. It costs me nothing and saves me the trouble of writing a check, addressing an envelope and buying a stamp.

If one is purchasing "forever" stamps ahead of the increase I think you can save yourself $1.25 per 25 stamps. So start the year ahead of the game buy 100 stamps and save $5 Or put another way loan the USPS $50 until you use the stamps.

I’m still using forever stamps from about three price increases ago. I use maybe five stamps a year at best. Been using online bill pay since it’s inception. Which was well before banks offered it and you paid directly on a companies site.

I use a ton of stamps mailing invoices every month. I bought five hundred dollars worth a couple of weeks ago it will save me a little bit for awhile.
