I went to the range today, mostly to fire form brass for my 30/30 A.I.... One of the boxes of loaded rounds had 150 gr Gamekings. I looked at the note I had written and put in the box. I loaded them 20 years ago!
On the other hand, the few I loaded up with cast 160 gr Lee RN and 33 grains of Varget and the previously FF brass clover leafed @ 50 yards.

A big Thank you to Mr. Gibson!

This last year I ran across some shotgun shells I reloaded circa 1982, they worked fine on the clay pigeons. Been in the cabinet at my parents house all these years, always assumed my brothers had made off with any I left there.

glad you had a good day at the range and got some brass ready for A.I.

I had to go back to Eufaula on business, and afterwards went to the range again with my 9mm pistols. The CZ, with .357 cast boolits, shot amazingly well at 25 yards, which is how the range is set up. If you want the targets closer you either have to bring a stand or sneak up on the target, which wasn't a problem today as I was the only one at the pistol range.

I shot my LC9s Pro @ 25 yards and did well, but what can one expect with a subcompact. Still the shots were all in the size of a page of paper.

I still have a few boxes of .357Mag loaded with my all time favorite load of #358156GC cast of #2 lubed 50/50 over a now beyond max charge of 2400. It's loaded in Brand-new MIDWAY cases, primed with WSPM Primers.
Yeah I know you don't need mag primers for 2400. But this load was FANTASTICALLY accurate in my 6 1/2" bbl NM Blackhawk, one hole groups at 50yrds. And yes 30+ years ago I could shoot that well. There are seven boxes still left from......1988.

And yes after 15yrs (1973-1988) of this load, approximately 35,000 rds I have a bit of gas cutting of the top strap.
In 1989 I had the forcing cone recut to either 11degress or 14degress. I can't remember which.

And YEP, this load is hot as the devil. But getting into Cowboy Action Shooting in 1987-88, really cut down on my shooting of hot loads.
Just shoot up a box yesterday. 3" at 50ft for 50rds. I can't hold well enough anymore. Arthritis and other infirmities have REALLY cut in to my shooting ability.

But that 30yr+ old ammo still shoots perfectly well. But I sure as heck can't. It'll probably be a couple years before I finally finish that 1000rds of GOOD hot stuff.

These days it's mostly std .38's,44spl & .45's with a few 9's, 40's & .32's thrown in.
