Buying Casting pot, decisions

I have the lee pot, and am thinking of upgrading. Not sure if I'm going to get the rcbs pro melt 2, or the lyman mag 25. Who has one or both, what do you like about them or dislike about it. Thanks.

I went from the Lee 20lb pot to the lyman mag25, huge difference, love the built in pid and once you replace the mold shelf with the NOE one it is an amazing pot to use.

The Mag 25 is excellent it heats up fast you
can drop your sprue back in as you cast and
it keeps the temp up very well and yes you
will need to upgrade to the NOE mold guide .

One negative for me on the Lyman Mag 25
is that it only goes to 850 degrees on the PID .

Just ordered the RCBS Pro Melt 2 , I want to know
of the two "is one better than the other" , I will be
keeping them both as I cast in different alloys .

I had them all. Still have RCBS for back up. Master Caster beats every hobby melter. Not talking about professional ones.

I still use the mold guide on my Mag25 that came with it.It works well with the Ideal,Lyman,RCBS,and Saeco molds that I use and is required for the Ideal and Lyman hollow point molds.

I totally know what budget means for hard working people. But in all honesty if one wants to have to experience of his life for the rest of his life do whatever and get the Master Caster. Save every month a bit and you won't regret. Automation is an option but is not needed. For lead lovers who are doing it as a hobby MC is the ultimate dream.

But the Master caster doesn't allow for all of the nice custom molds we have available. Just get the Magma pot and hand cast in style!
