We need to move our Thanksgiving to correspond with Canadian Thanksgiving - the second Monday in October. That is when the harvest is truly over and the trees are at peak color. It also separates Christmas by almost two months. Lincoln waited for a Union victory before he declared a National day of Thanksgiving but the Pilgrims and Indians celebrated the end of the harvest. What do ya think?

No there are some traditions that you don't change.

I think it’s fine where it is. Hunting seasons are around it and I end up w/ a bunch of days off w/out having to burn any paid time off. And besides, why would we want to do anything like Canada? [emoji23]

"second Monday in October" ...I don't think so!

Here in chilly Minnesota, our Outdoor farmer's market ends on Haloween...well past the second Monday in October. There are some things that are still being harvested here yet in Mid November.

So, I think maybe Canada should move their Thanksgiving to correspond with ours.

I think we should get rid of all the holidays and just have 12 WORK DAYS A YEAR and all the rest should be range days.

Why should we have anything to do the the canadian way, they elected a leader more anti-American then obama was. He's turning that country into a fully socialist moslem sanctuary. Destroying their CONSTITUTION along the way.

I think there is room for Canada to have Thanksgiving when it suits them and for the US to have ours when it suits us.

You do know that Ca has their thanksgiving a month+ before the US because their winter comes about a month before
most of the US, right?

They don't call it the great white north for nothing.

We could simply add a "Blessed Harvest" day or so... I would not mind another Holiday

More like the Canadians have to move our Thanksgiving to the US date. Harvest ain't over, for some it is covered with snow until the spring

I think President FDR tried to change the date for Thanksgiving, once. It didn't take.

In my mother’s home country of Norway the people have been moving towards celebrating Thanksgiving for many years now. I think we can share our holiday.

It is said copying is a form of flattery.
