I've been looking for work since my wife got her job offer here in Reno.
I got hired today and start next week. I'll be working four 10 hour days.
I will have Sundays off so I can go to church and do IDPA matches.
I'm looking forward to the IDPA match this Sunday.

All the best in your new job. Keep you eyes open and you mouth shut, until you figure out who is who and what is what, in that new job.

That's good advice in a lot of situations . The best of luck with your new job .

Figuring out the job politics will take you much farther than anything else. Must be someone there in upper-management that you can coat-tail who, loves church, firearms, or whatever.

My wife will be working on my off days. That's going to kind of suck, but it just means I'll have plenty of time to go shooting.

Congrats on the job! I work for the state and in 8 years had to move around 6 times just to get a decent salary! One agency I worked 4 10's and loved it. Took me a long time to get used to 5 8's.

It's been a very long time since I last worked four 10 hour days. I've been doing five 8's for over ten years. It is going to be nice having three days off.

Congrats on the new job! I did 5-10's for quite a few years. Loved it, as I didn't have to work Saturdays.

Two eyes, two ears, and one mouth.

Me: Son, do you know why God gave us 2 ears and one mouth?
Son: why daddy?
Me: So we can listen twice as much as we speak.

Good advice. Best to stay out of office gossip as well. I’m not sure what field you’re in but in the medical profession, heavens knows those girls gossip.

on my shop wall a quote from a old uncle of mine " ability to speak is a gift
ability to speak more than one language is a marvel
ability to know when to speak that's wisdom !

Thanks everyone. It's warehouse/forklift work so it shouldn't be very physically demanding.
On a side note I found a nice place to shoot out in the desert today.

I retired doing 4 10's. It was a half hour drive to work, on holiday weeks we did 4 8's and a holiday. It felt like it was hardly worth going in for 8.

When I worked Four ten hour days, we figured out, with holidays and vacation time, we were away from work more days than we were reporting to work. Loved it every weekend was three days off, holiday weekends four days.

I have worked four tens for twenty years. That used to be my definition of retired. Soon I will retire for real!
