I have been playing with a RCBS 35-200-FN 35 Caliber (358 Diameter) 200 Grain Flat Nose Gas Check boolit for a couple of years in my model 8 and 81 remington. I have had decent success with 26gr. of IMR4198 groups are about 2 1/2 to 2in. at 90yds off a bench with open sights. these guns shoot 1in with jackets. dose anyone have a better boolit powder combo? my bores are 358 I am sizing to 360,,,,,,,,,,thanks

I use the same bullet but sized at .360 with 24.5 of 4198 in a Marlin 336. Get pretty good groups.

I loaded some with 26.5gr. and the groups opened up. maybe when I cast some more and load I will back off the charge and see what happens. thanks for the answer,,,,,,,,,,

I use the Lee version of that bullet in two Marlin 336's. A max load of A/2400 is what they both preferred. One rifle had to have Hornady cases and the other didn't care. Check your Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook but I think it was 20.0 grains. The next best powder was SR-4759 if you have some. I have used 4198 but not enough to talk about. That bullet is a deer killing machine with coww plus a little tin.

IIRC, I too had to back down. I cast 2 different bullets for the 35, one is a custom no lube groove flat point. Had a friend shoot some out of his Marlin and it was impressive. I am no match for his ability..

This is a 207 gr. bullet and I dropped back to 24 gr. 4198.

I really like this powder , as it is not a hard recoil, averages 1600 + FPS and groups well

Yeah, I was spotting with mine and couldn't tell where he hit after the first shot. Was quite a surprise when we walked to the target..

With the Rcbs 200 one of my favorite ones in the 35 Remington is
IMR 3031 (32-34) grains

IMR 3031 is probably a touch better than 335, shot tons of the Rcbs 200 in Marlin and a contender super 14 and 34 grains of 3031 was very accurate

Those are my bullets and yes, I powdercoat and gascheck . I really don't need to check, but do because , well, just because . :)

I shoot the same 200gr. boolit in my
336 marlin micro. But I've found out that
mine likes IMR 4198 at 27 gr.:redneck:
