Very sad news, I just found out that my home was lost in the Paradise "Camp" fire. I had to evacuate last Thursday. I was able to grab some clothes, food and my two yellow labs but everything else is most likely gone. My Mothers house was also destroyed, She and my step father got out safely with just the clothes on their backs. My sister and her family also safely evacuated, they live in Magalia about 10 miles north of me. Right now it looks like their house may have survived the fire for now but we aren't 100% sure. Our church was also lost in the fire.

Thankfully we all got out safe. We are staying with friends and family for now. I don't now if it will be days or weeks before we can get back to see what's left if anything. Please Keep us in your thoughts and prayers during these difficult times. My cousin set up a "go fund me" page for us. I hate to even mention it but any little bit would help.

I empathize. My business was a total loss from arson.

I am very sorry for your loss. My Heart goes out to you.

I'm watching the news as I'm "trapped" in the house because of COPD & severe sinusitis.
Saturday the sky was yellow/gray from the smoke caused by the Woolsey fire. So many of those folks have also lost their homes too.
They have evacuated the entire city of Calabasas. My Heart goes out to those folks too.

Sorry to hear that. I have a friend whose brother moved to Paradise long time ago. My friend is really worried about his brother and his family, as they have not been able to make contact with the brother, and fears the worst.

Been watching this on the news, terrible stuff. Higher death toll than all the hurricanes this year. Wish we could send some of the rain Kansas got in the past few months, we still have standing water all over the place where its normally dry.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. Friends of mine bought a little house for their son up there while he attends Chico State and bought the smaller place next door so they’d have somewhere to stay while they visited him. (He has roommates, and 60-somethings can’t live in a College Dorm atmosphere any more, no matter how much they love the kid.)

Their place, and the rest of the street, are totally gone. At last notice, their son’s place is singed, but still standing. But his neighbors are all homeless, and the neighborhood doesn’t exist any more. He, the parents, and everybody else in the neighborhood put a lot of sweat equity and cash into their places to fix them up. Gone in a puff of smoke. Terrible doesn’t describe it.

very sorry to hear this. but as long as you and yours were not hurt then you were lucky even if it doesn't feel like it things can be replaced loved ones can not. i truly hope you can rebuild and get your life back to normal very soon. not sure what i can do for you but if there is something do not hesitate to ask.

The Paradise fire was three almost four years ago. Most has been rebuilt or is in planning.

We received a notice from our homeowners insurance company stating that they have doubled our rates, ouch. We are in a fire danger area, they say.

Yeah, hurricanes don't do much to help insurance rates either.

Wonder what ever happened with the OP.

Very sorry. Those fires are awful. My friend died in a recent Wyoming fire. Just awful.
