Before I pull a barrel off of an action, I wanted to try a few jacketed bullets in it. The barrel looks to be in bad shape and I have not been able to find a cast load that is respectable. Tried two molds and different loads. I am looking for a few stray bullets that can be thrown into a small padded mailer and shipped. Not looking to buy a whole box necessarily. Thought about getting a few milsurp rounds but their bullets are not known for accuracy either. Can pay by PayPal if someone has a few that they want to get rid of. Thanks in advance.

I likely have 2 or 3 170-200 grain options if BM doesn't?

For my purposes, anything 170 grains or more. This is just a crude test of the old barrel.

Why not firelap the bore using cast boolits lubed with fine valve lapping compound?

largom,
I may try that but I am not sure how much bore I have left. I slugged the first inch of the bore and got a reading of 0.328", best I could measure. I have some jacketed bullets on the way. Not expecting them to shoot any better but will not hurt to try.
