It was muzzleloader doe only season here recently and i went out back for a walk with my .50cal inline. About 10 minutes in i came across a real muddy area of the path which was a problem cause i was wearing thin running shoes since it wasnt cold out. So im looking down trying to formulate a path that dont involve wet feet, when i checked to my left i notcied a doe standing there thinking 'why is that guy staring at a mud puddle'. So i proceded to unsling my rifle and put one centerline in the throat since it was straight at me. It dropped and was a clean shot, ethical and meat wise. When i got up to it first thing i noticed was a bulge on the back, on top of the last rib. So i felt it and it was the bullet trying to exit. Heres a photo of the projectile, its a lee 250gr REAL i think their muzzleloader bullets are called, alox lube is still visible in the grove and its certified pure lead at 1400 or so.229697

Very nice...I love to hear real hunting stories...Looks like the REAL boolit did a nice job. Congrats and enjoy the meat.

now melt it, cast it into another bullet and then kill another deer, you can say you killed two deer with one bullet in two different years/or days. :)

Congratulations!

Nice to know the REALs work so well on game. I haven't used one yet, but have shot a few through a .54 I have and planned to use it during muzzle loader season then hardly got out. Maybe next year.

Nicely done! I am curious about the powder used. It's generally not advisable to use Alox-based lubes with black powder. what was your propellant?
