Is .22 ammo still hard to find in your area????
It's hit and miss here, and prices have gone way up.

It’s plentiful here, shelves full and on sale. It’s nice to see literally truckloads full on the store shelves.

It's here in the South Bay part of Los Angeles County, South of LAX Airport. The only few places to buy it are the small W-mart, Couple of Big-5's and the TURNER'S.

Turners are price gouger's still, Big-5 is HIGH, W-mart is Ok if they have any. The indoor pistol ranges are also way over priced on everything.

The W-marts in LA County can't sell guns. The ones in LA City can't sell guns or ammo.

In fact I think the Turners in Reseda within City of Los Angeles boundaries is the only gun store left in the City of LA.

Local gun store has tons of it. He said when it was hard to get his supplier wouldn't just sell 22 ammo. He had to order something else and they would add some 22 ammo on the order. After Trump won, his supplier called wanting to get rid of 22 ammo.
Somebody somewhere was trying to keep customers from getting it.

PSA has a couple of good deals on 22 ammo right now. Blazer and Federal Auto Match for under 4 cents. 5 boxes for free shipping.

As for central Kansas, it is all over, shortage is long over around here. Prices are so-so.

Dealers here know how expensive it is for individuals to order ammo/powder/primers.
Most places won't even sell to us because of the shipping problems.
For some places, the shipping is more than the cost of the ammo/ powder/ primers.

Wait for the free shipping on midway, I got federal bulk 525 packs @ sub 3 cents a round recently. The free shipping does not usually apply to bulk boxes due to weight, but if you add the same quantity of individual boxes it will ship free, go figure. I put up a lot, and by that I mean I got the raised eyebrows from the wife. I told her our kids would thank me when they shoot up the last of it after I am long gone... I'm 33.

I am in northern end of the left coast of Kalifornia and there is .22 ammo available at the gun shops and major sporting stores. Only one Walmart sells ammo and the other won't ( must be a manager decision ). Prices are high but wait till next year when background checks go into effect. Can't get any ammo shipped in anymore either.

Its plentiful here with a good variety. The prices have not returned to the pre panic level and probably won't.

Walmart is always the cheapest price in town. Under $20 for 500 rounds

I read on rimfire.com forum for 22 sales. They keep getting cheaper so I have been buying about 4 cents per round and dropping. Just got some CCI Blazer for 16.99 per 500 shipped. I have grand sons so you can never have to many.

Here in Central NYS it’s available, but at the “new” normal prices. Centerfire ammo, especially the common calibers( 30 30, 3006, 308, 243, etc. ) is cheaper than I have seen in years if you find sales and rebates.

+1. I ordered the Federal 5 box deal. In this case free shipping really is a good deal. I prefer the std velocity since all I do is punch paper anyway. The guys over at RimFire Central may not approve of it but in my case hitting the bullseye is sort of like a blind pig finding an acorn.

Seems like they can't give it away here in Idaho. Even saw some .22 WRF but .22 short only sold in CCI brand.

Everyone has 22LR stocked, here in SW Wis, and if your not stocked up, for the next go around, it's your own fault, as there are some good prices out there too. Farm and fleet has almost every caliber, marked down, for this hunting season. What a refreshing change.

PSA has the best price right now that I have seen for a long time. Federal Auto Match (my favorite) and CCI Blazer. 5 boxes and you get free shipping. Not sure if they ship to HI though. The local gun stores and wally world have shelves full.

Plentiful here too, even the shorts, longs and everything in between. Sportsman's Warehouse has a very good selection, but I usually just wait for Midway to put what I want on sale. Then I pounce on it.

Lots available. Recently saw an add for less than $2 a box, but I do not need any.

Once it gets to $1.50 a box I will buy 20k.

The only reason I go into w-mart is to buy .22LR ammo.
Cheaper then the other 2 choices. But since they don't send out flyers in the mail , I gotta remember to check out the website & hope they actually have it.
And then hope they can find someone with a key to the ammo cage. And then I have to be escorted to the parking lot.

Dunham's near here (Michigan) regularly are advertising Remington Tbolts and Federal bulk 525 rd boxes for 19.99 + tax.
Can buy for $25-27 a brick most anywhere.

BiMart has Federal 1600 round cases on sale this week for $49.97. That comes to 3.1 cents per round.

I still want to know what happened to “$30 per brick is the new normal”.

This is the cheapest I've seen in a long time...

That is cheap, very nice. I was in Bimart last night and the shelves were full to overloaded, looked like literally thousands of pounds of .22lr ammo on their various shelves. I expect that if the shelves stay full like that for very long the prices will continue to drop.

It looks like what's cheapest right now are the Thunderbolts (AKA thunderduds). I've used them in the past with nothing particularly memorable, good or bad, but I'd read so many terrible things about them recently that I was hesitant to buy any. I bought a brick a while back for $18 and last week my son and I burned through a couple hundred round in the 10/22, without a single misfire or jam. Maybe we just happened to get a good brick, but I was happy with that. I can't say anything for accuracy because we were just blasting at clay and steel targets.
