Something new to try, using a ring or circular light for illumination when shooting pictures of tools. Often getting enough light directly in front with out glare is a problem.
This is my first try but it shows promise, and it gives a different appearing picture when used with out any background lighting.

.40 S&W fired into ballistic gelatin then a dental plaster mould made of the cavity. I have had two of these setting around for 20 years and never thought to photograph them.
Enjoy this one.

Ken, I'd like to hear more about your ring light + a photo of it, if possible. Thx!

What I did was take a flex arm lighted magnifier light and remove the glass then replace the bulb with a 6200k LED bulb.
It's a good, white light but does not project very far, typical of many LED's. Used with top, overhead lights it will work to illuminate the front of tools with out glare or hotspots. And I did not have to send $140.00 to Adroma for theirs.
