I have been laying in ambush for one of these or one very similar for several years. Finally one is coming to live at my house!!!!

After a couple conversations and negotiation, yesterday I dropped a check in the mail. 12 bores are rather common, even 10's can be found with regularity. I have seen one other 16 and that several years ago. I screwed up and let it get away, a mistake I did not repeat. Hopefully it will arrive on my doorstep mid to late next week!

Great buy. I usually look for 16 gauge guns myself. Just got a Cape Gun with a 16 Ga. X .44 Cal. Barrels. Not near as pretty as yours though.

Thank ya'll! Time will tell the story, huh. I hope it's as nice as it looks. And yes, 16's feel nice...lol! To me they must as that's all I have but I grew up with Dad shooting 16's and I sorta followed suit. They are under rated I believe. But, I also understand the 12 bore/20 bore thing, it just isn't my thing.

Very nice indeed and I bet it will be a joy to carry.

16's carry like a twenty and hit like a twelve...

The gun arrived yesterday afternoon and if anything, it is better than the seller so enthusiastically described. Just need to gather some correct size caps and I'm ready to start shooting it!!! I had my chemo Wednesday so I'm still pretty yukked up from it. I'll get some pictures in a couple days and try to post them.

Still shooting my great grandfathers 16ga double barrel. When I lived in Fla 16 ga was near impossible to find. Here in local shop carries a good selection.

Nice one! My current 16's are a German side by side and a Husqvarna rolling block. My Father in Law hooked me on the 16 years ago ,,, carries like a 20 shoots like a 12.

My cartridge 16's consist of three drillings, a Thieme & Schlegelmilch, a Franz Jaeger, one that isn't marked and a Jost & Diehl combination gun. There's also an Ithaca Flues from 1913. Truth be told I shoot the Ithaca best.
