I picked up a S&W 627 and plan to shoot 38 Medium Colt (38 Long Colt cut to 0.900") with a 158 gn projectile. Currently I'm running a Lee 358-158 RF. It works but I fear the flat point will be a bit of a hindrance during speed reloads in IPSC. I like the idea of a larger weight so I don't really want to run anything much lighter. I would also like to have a cannelure for crimping to allow pressure build up and get a complete powder burn. Looking for a round nose to assist loading. I can't seem to locate a mold that fits this criteria. With the 38's being around as long as they have been I'm surprised I can't locate one. Anyone have any ideas about where one may exist?

Thanks,

Accurate has several designs for the .38 S&W which follow the form of the original .38 Colt New Police bullet and the British Revolver .380 Rimmed Mk2 which will work fine with speed loaders.

When you order you can tweak diameters to fit your cylinder and alloy, delivery is about 3 weeks.

NOE also has several which are suitable:

Sounds like the Lyman 358311 or its NOE clone would suit you. It has been around a long time for good reason.
