Pressure with case size

So I picked up a S&W 627. Looking to load something between a Short Colt and a Long colt in length. Trying to make some loads with 0.900" brass. I I find load data for the Long Colt, I should assume higher pressure and thus reduce the charge in my shorter cases correct? I swear before I bought this gun I could find load data all over the place for these 0.900" cases. Buy the gun and the internet swallows them up!

I am looking for a shorter cartridge to load for speed in competition as I only need to make minor PF.

Shorter cartridge is the same as a deeper seating depth so you are exactly right on higher pressure and reducing the charges in shorter cases, yes.

In my Ruger India Model .380 Rimmed I use Starline .38 S&W brass and load 3.5 grains of Bullseye with the Accurate 36-159H

This approximates .38 Special +P, about 900 fps in a 4" barrel using .38 S&W brass in a strong gun.

ABSOLUTELY NOT for use in Webley & Scott, Enfield, Albion, Colt or S&W revolvers chambered for the .38 S&W cartridge!

Not sure what bullet you are using, expect a RN for ease of loading. Wadcutter data would be a good start as it is fully in the case giving the 38 spcl case about the same powder capacity as your shorter cases with a RN bullet.
