thoughts on 480 70/30 range scrap/coww poder coated gas checked for hunting

ive got the 477-640 hp mold from miha,its 385gr as the large hp and gas checked,ive been thinking about doing a 70/30 mix with range scrap and coww to keep it fairly soft and powdercoat and loading it with lilgun .will be shooting it from a tuarus raging bull with 8 3/8 barrel

Sounds like it’ll work just fine.

Word of caution however, Lilgun has its detractors and I unceremoniously sand blasted the forcing cone of a 41 mag one time by lighting off some light for caliber boolits using this powder, which is a general no no. Much abound of the powder and throat erosion. YMMV.

im for sure open to suggestions on powder for this one,id like to use the best powder for the application

Sounds like a good alloy, I run 80/20 with the same mold in a 475 with HS6 for 1150. You might want to test your scrap as mine varies between 8-10 depending on source,

the ingots of range scrap im going to use tested at 8,like yours mine is always between 8 and 10,i think id like around 11 or 12 bhn then powder coated
