Stick on wheel weights melting temp

I have accumulated a couple of buckets of stick on wheel weights that I have culled from the clip on weights. Not having a use for them, I have just let them pile up. Decided I should smelt them into ingots. As I assume they are softer than the clip on weights, I thought they would melt at a lower temp, but unless my electric heating source has gone bad since I last used it, they require a higher temp. Does that make sense?

Yes, they are near pure...Pure melts at 621ºF
COWW melt around 500º or so.

Consider them as pure lead.
I mix them 50-50 , lead and COWW , makes an excellent alloy and extends my stash of COWW's .

My poor old hand me down propane burner will hardly melt plumbers lead , but I think it keeps me out of trouble melting down ww . I don't think I could melt zink with it if I tried .

Pure is worth keeping around. Mix it 50-50 with COWW's, or ingot it and sell to some muzzleloader shooters; they would be happy to get it!
