A friend has just bought a barrel in .50 Peacekeeper for his Savage rifle .... I have no clue what he plans on using it for [smilie=l:
Maybe some of the TOUGH NW Ohio Ground Hogs LOL

I understand he will have to remove the bolt to load it

But he has been helping me with lead
And now he is thinking of shooting some cast out of it

Never seen a loaded round , but I see they are loading 50 BMG bullets

Would the NOE 513-580-SP-BI5 be about the right bullet ?

If so , he will get to buy the mold , sizer die and top punch
As IMO I will never get to afford a big toy like that

I have the .50 razorback coming soon. Its a straight walled 300 RUM case chopped to 2.375" for .510 bullets. I have the 513-580 mold that i plan to use as well as the 513-888, some M8 API and possibly some tracer. I also have the MP 640 profile molds in 440? And 525? Grain.

Havent got it yet, but its going to ne on a long action 700 with a center feed magazine to help feed the FN and wide meplat boolits.

I put together something like this many years ago out of junk parts. Old Savage 110 action , junk barrel shortened, piece of elm that looked like a railroad tie for a stock. I call it ugly stick.
Shoots any 510 dia cast. Made a mold for a nose pour that drops at 755 with lino. Shoot at 1900 to 2000.
Also all the Barnes originals like the 6 and 700 ssofts as well as the 450's. The light ones vaporize varmints at 2800.

So how does these. 510 bore guns stand up to FFL regs?

As I understand it
A .50 "Bore" can use a .510 bullet and be OK

Same bullet sizes as a 50 BMG

I just need the $$ to buy another 50 BMG

I gave him a links to several 50 cal molds that will work
Now it is up to him to buy one

I will help by casting some for him with his lead
But I refuse to put out the $$for a mold that I don't have a use and LOL I am to cheap to buy a gun to use any of the bullets

LOL I use my Marlin 45/70 on ground hogs when I am getting ready for deer hunting
