This is a pre-Microgroove 336 lever gun, .32 Winchester Special. I am partial to iron molds but have had good luck with NOE's aluminum. Might even take the carp shoot on a Lyman if good reports follow.

Does anyone get respectable accuracy with a plain base bullet in this caliber, or should I stick with gas check? No velocity freak here.

Thanks,
PBSmith

The RCBS 32-170-FN works for me with gas checks and a case full Leverevolution powder.

I get good results with the Lee 324-175-1R (GC) and the old Ideal 321427GC.

Hello PBSmith,

I use the RCBS 32-170-FN for my 32-40, personally I wouldn't use anything except a flat nose in a tube magazine.

I use a Lee clone of the Ranchdog 321/170. It cast great and shoots great.
