I can't believe it.

I have an RCBS 45 cal 200gr SWC that casts like a dream and the bullets are superb in my 45acp.

so why did I have to buy another mould....

I told myself that I've found the only mould I really need for my 45acp.

and along comes a good mould at a good price, and I caved.

Just got my 452389 today.

cleaned the mould and cast a few with it.

It's a 185gr RN if you will. It drops at .455 and sizes easily.

Loaded a few and it shoots and feeds well.

Well there you have it. I now have TWO very good moulds for my 45acp.

I suppose if I want to shoot miserly, I'd use the 185gr as it's going to use less lead...

I can't believe I have another mould....

OK NO more for my 45.. :)

Gonna get some clean holes with that one.
Interesting design.
Keep us informed on how it performs.
Just looks like a good casting.

Oooh.

That results in a really short OAL with a non standard design. If the gun doesn't feed these 100% it's not necessarily its fault, as a 1911 was never designed to run with cartridges that short.

Only early release magazines will do, and due to the compromises inherent in their design absolute 100 percent reliability may be elusive.

Good luck. Hope they work as well as possible.

Nice boolet, Blammer, the second of many I'm sure.:-D But it appears to be seated a bit deep. Have you tried crimping it on the front band?

Blammer; With thanks (not) to the former Federal Government of Australia, who decreed that ordinary citizens did not need .45 ACP Handguns for competition; I could do you a deal on a LYMAN 452374, an RCBS 200gr swc and a LEE 225gr RN. :kidding:

You will never have too many molds. ;-)

Keep up the good work, I found that my Colt would digest a lot of rounds people said would not work.

Bolt, lever or Pump actions only.

Currently have a modified LITHGOW No 1 Mk III* worked on.

It is not really up for sale. But I will keep you in mind if I ever change the mind (again). [smilie=1:

I don't think Blammer will be able to resist buying more molds for the .45acp. It is a compulsion.

That's a hard pill to swallow. I suppose trading for something you can use is the way to go. Does anyone there use the TC Contender? I believe those were available in .45 ACP. Not much good for IPSC but great for plinking and for keeping your mould.

Most Autralians as well as quite a few other citizens on this planet, have this distinct distrust of any Politician who says they are doing it for our own good. In these cases 'our' should read 'their' own good.

I know of many Australians who in one way or another have 'stuck it to' the previous Government.

I for one intend just to spite them, modify a .303" with 'crook' barrel to .45 acp.

T.C. are available but rather pricey here.

If I cannot get this carbine going, then I will look at a trade.

even if it isn't, then it came from my 4C NEI group buy. Your boolits were the first ones measured.:drinks:

I told myself that I've found the only mould I really need for my 45acp.

I remember saying something similar to myself about all "I really need" right after I purchased a Lee Loader for my 30/30.
