10mm boolit mold

Does any one have expearence with 10 mm auto.
Which mold and your prefered boolit weight.
I am shooting a 1911 and a glock with a after market barrel.
This will be my first 10mm mold.
I will probally buy a 5 cavity from accurate molds.

I have 5 different molds for 10mm. I agree with Valley-Shooter that the 175 gr Lee is a good all around bullet. Mine is the 2 cavity and I loathe the mold. I imagine that the 6 cav is better.

For a heavy thumper bullet for the woods, an LBT 200 Gr WFN or a clone is a great bullet. Those feed fine in my Glock, but that profile can be stubborn to feed in some guns.

Also worth a look is the Accurate 40-200F. Nice 200 gr every day bullet.

The NOE 403-180-RFin aluminum 5 cavity casts nice. I wish it were a bit narrower, since there's a lot of sizing after powder coating.

I recently picked up the 401638 4 cav (similar to the Lee), but waiting until the summer temps mellowbefore casting with it.

I use NOE 180 and 200 for 10mm. With the pins you can vary the weights.

Personally run a 190ish grainer I put together over at accurate molds. I think a weight at 180 to 200g is a good go for a cast boolit.

I forgot to mention, I just cast about 200 rounds of this boolit this afternoon. I had only had about 6 rejects. Plus the six cavity is cheap to buy.

180 was the design weight for the 10, and many use it in 40 but 165 is better for 40. With cast, the extra 20gr is OK. Slower and heavier is OK if it does what YOU want.

226554I shoot a Colt Delta Elete 10mm and it shoots the Lee 175 gr boolit with a dose of Accurate #7, as well or better that j bullets. It shoots that boolit better than factory ammo as well (lucky me). I powder coated it and get no lead at all in the Colt.

One question. On the accurtate mold catalog it shows max nose length for a glock.
Is it that big of an issue.

Nose length can be an issue as one starts to run heavier weights. I chose 190 grain and designed it to give maximum case capacity with a nose width and length for reliable feeding etc. If a design has too long of a nose with a WFN a person can run into magazine stacking.

I have all three of the LEE 10MM Bullet molds. I use the 145 the most, actually I pretty much wore one out! :)

My Glock's shoot them pretty well. My 40AR is more temperamental. (40 & 10) I LIKE the 145g best for my steel matches as THEY really feed BEST in my AR. But the Tumble Lube 175g Mold will not feed all the time. Don't seem to matter if it is full sized, or sized to .401. (But not all the time) My AR dosen't like it at all! BUT The newer LEE reg lube 175g bullet seems to be a mix of the two and feeds MOST of the time.

I have a 200 Lyman TC mold too and my 40's like it so does my G29, but the 20 dosent. I have three barrels for the 20 too... The stock BBl feeds it best.

I have been wanting a WFN 200G for some time. Came close a couple times when a couple guys here posted up with there's and I looked at the molds. But I still haven't.

Oh cmon guys I just got Rock Island Tac Ultra 1911 in 10mm and I wasnt really planning on casting for this gun but of course I have to run into this thread lol

Now I'm thinking that for the price of 500 FMJs I can get new Lee mold and sizing die since I already cast for everything else hmmm :veryconfu

For me the 10mm is at its best with 200gr bullets. The WNLFP designs from Accurate are great. The NOE is also good.

My fav 155gr is the Magma RNBB, its one of the most accurate across the board, designs ive tried( Hs6 is my choice powder). And feeds well too.
