how do you lube?

I am tinking of casting a Lyman 504617 or 508656 for my Encore Pro Hunter 50 cal
muzzle loader. how do you fill the lube grooves? thinking of using SPG or BPCR lube. I have a lubesizer but don't see a size die that would work.

I just smear it on with my fingers as I load. I use wonderlube and it is fairly soft. Just have a rag handy to wipe off your hands!

What mooman76 said is what I've done for years, but it IS a bit messy. Not long ago I had Buckshot make me a H & I die for my RCBS Lub-A-Matic and Lyman 450 lube-sizer that lubes, but doesn't size my conical CB's: Very effective and very reasonably priced. Excellent workmanship too. Btw, several years ago I was able to purchase Wonder Lube in sticks for a very attractive price. The lube die has finally allowed me to use them without the mess of hand lubing.

Down here I lube all my 44-40 and Hot 357 boolits finger style. The news is a GREAT time to "grease up".... I do about 3 a minute and after years of practice you really do not need to watch what you are doing. My Other Boolits get tumbled Lee goop in an old plastic butter tub with lid. Up there I have all the regular Lyman Lubers ,sizers,lubes.... Just a matter of how many boolits are ya gonna need...

My 508656 mld throws them at .505 so I just run them though a .509 sizer die, SPG works fine.I like casting them 1/20 alloy mix a little tuffer slug, and shooting it out of that Encore with a heavy charge is big medicine for most critters!

I melt wonder lube and a little bees wax in a small "speer" bullet box. I then stand my maxi's up on end in the luber and alow the lube to harden, I then use a 50BMG shell with the base cut off to cut the boolits from the lube .
