Im thinking of trying RCBS's 165 Sil mould for my 308 and 30-06, but was wondering what the as-cast diameter is from the mould. It states .309", but I want .310"-311". Can anyone share what thier diameters are? Thanks-

I dont have any raw boolits right now to check, but a .309 sizing die will shine the bands all the way arround when sized and mic out to .310 when done with a hard monotype/ WW mix I use. So with that said, it looks like .310-11 from my mold.
By the way my .308 single shot pistol loves it.....FWIW....Buck

NOt RCBS but my Lyman casts .310 with WW and .3105 with Lino.

Chances are you'll end up lapping the mold to get 310 out of it. They will work much better after lapping anyway. It's just a crap shoot as to the exact size the mold you receive will be.
The molds are never perfectly round or the two cavities exactly the same. Culling the larger of the two bullets and lapping with about three of them will remove about 80% of the deviations and you'll cast some pretty bullets.

You can Beagle the new mold to get larger bullets to lap with if you want to step up the size. You won't get a larger cavity than the bullet lap you are using.

You'll want to check your gas check shank diameter before lapping. If it's up to size I file away some lead on the shank of my lapping bullet so as not to over size that.

from 4/6 mix mine pours just a shade over 310 the nose is just a shade over 301
from ww's my 310 sizer just scuffs them and the nose is a shade over 300.
the back isn't the problem with these or the other rcbs silh molds but if they would get the nose a bit larger they would hold up to a bit more velocity.
every rifle i have run them through loves them at about 1900 or so.
