Hello casters!

I have a question.

I bought this mold to try as I haven't seen many "light" 40 molds and it was cheap enough to give it a go.

Well, its been a good lil bullet and I have cast many thousands form it in the last few months. Looking to "upgrade" as it really is working well for me and a two holer simply doesn't meet with my needs for volume. Lee dose not like a 6 holer for this bullet...

Is there another from another maker near this style/weight in at least a 4 holer someone knows of? This LEE alum mold is also showing the wear of its use.

I think there are several people on this forum who make custom molds, thou I have never bought any. NOE comes to mind right off the top, but there are several others. Type in "molds" in the search bar. I think there is also a section here about molds and equipment.

In .45 cal. the Lee 'TL-452-200-SWC' is close to that profile...runs in the .45ACP like a dream...rains from a 6 cavity mould...is perfect for PC'ing and it's my favorite for mass production for weekly practice.

Don't know what you are shooting from or why the light boolit. 165gr TC is supposed to be the 'best' style for 40sw semiauto. Best PF.

all these companies make great molds I've only purchased from a couple but all I've heard excellent things about.

You can probably order that mold in 6 cavity from Lee cheaper than the other custom mold makers. My question though is like one of the other posters on this subject, why not go to the 175 and you won't have a lot in it. It should serve just about any purpose.

I happen to agree with you about the 145gr Lee. That is my preferred load in my 40's. I also have a well used Lee 2 hole and would like to get a 4 or 6 hole in aluminum. Let me know how your search goes, maybe we can get a 2fer deal.

Have you considered just getting another 2 holer, and using them in tandem.
While one is cooling the other is getting filled.
It will probably up your production rate by 50% - 80%, and you won't have to stop to let the molds cool.
I use this method with 2 x 4 holers and a 40 pound pot, and that setup puts out about 800 per hour.
I coat while I'm casting, so my molds get a 30 second break every 10 minutes while I change baking trays in my oven.

I need to watch NOE website more iften. I see I just missed a sale back on the fourth!!

I do have the tumble lube 175 Lee two holer. I kike the lighter bullet in the handgun easier to reduce scope blk out. Now that im shooting the carbine more I might just grab the newer TC 175 bullet in a 6 holer. Its the cheapest option.

But thank you for the NOE & Accurate links! They are much better quality than lee.
