I have a new NOE 300 blk hollow point mold. I am getting a thin extra bit of lead up at the hollowpoint. It is like there is a gap between the mold and pins. Is that anything to worry about or is there a way to fix?

Notice the slight gap on the pin on the right?

It looks like a defect or maybe your tab that holds the pin and allows the pin to tilt and slid might be out of tune, as in it might be bent holding the pin lower in the mold. Its hard to tell. I would call NOE and email him some pics.

Try ever so slightly bending the rail guides up with a smooth faced adjustable wrench to move the pin higher up. also make sure the blocks are completely closing with the pins in, no daylight between the block faces.

I see a piece of lead below the lower pin, second pic, on the block face, could be holding the mold halves apart.

Talked to NOE. They want the mold back to figure out what is going on. From pictures they said pins are not aligned correctly and appears there is damage at the nose of the mold.

I think I see some dings around the pin in the top of the photo that may allow some lead to get by.

NOE is going to replace. It seems the pins were not properly aligned and could have ended up causing the damage to the mold.

Awesome customer service.

My devastators cast like that...four molds in a row. The alloy likes to partially leak around my pin. I was told to ladle pour instead of using my Lee 4/20. I'm going to try some Rockford arsenal mold release spray on the pin to see of it seals it.

Well not looking good. No updates from NOE in months. I have sent an email every month asking for an update. Didnt sound like they were going to be able to supply the same mold on the initial conversation with them. Poor customer service. Waste of over $150 and now I don't even have the mold since they wanted it back to inspect.

Any other viable subsonic hollowpoint 300 blk molds out there now?

NOE is not very good at answering emails. You would be better served by calling them. They always answer the phone and you can get better service that way.

NOE called today. Sounds look like you guys are right about emails. I slipped through the cracks. They are going to make a run and send a new mold. We will see if I get the replacement mold in a while.

“Any other viable subsonic hollowpoint 300 blk molds out there now?”

I was just wondering, do subsonic hollowpoints have enough velocity to open up? Are the walls extra thin especially for subsonic?

I have a simular hp mold from noe , i found that i was closing the mold before the pins dropped all the way down to their stop. I have learned to tap the mold before i close the mold all the way so the pins drop
