After a little bit of a learning curve I have found a load for my .356 Win.
This rifle has a bit of a generous throat and chamber. It also had a tight spot in the bore under the rear sight, which I was able to remove by firelapping (my first go at that and was pretty nervous).
I have a RCBS -35-200-FN that cast dead on .358 with COWW+2%. I sent it to Erik at Hollowpoint Mold Service and had it opened up to cast at .361.
So to make a long story short. Sized to .360, lubed with Carnuba Blue and seating as far out as possible to cycle every time in the lever-gun.
Ladder tested with IMR-3031 starting at 38.5gr and went up the 41.5. Found a accurate and repeatable load at 40gr.
I have to say I was pretty excited. Very close ES and SD and good groups. My shooting area at my home only allows for 85 yards but I think the load is dialed in.
Sure is fun when it comes together.

that bullet shoots real well out of my 356 as does lbt's 220 round flat gas check.

The RCBS bullets is very accurate in my BLR as well.

Good deal!

I like them too!

I just started powder coating them. I haven't tried them powder coated yet.

I had identical results in my 358 Winchester rebore M700 with the exact same components as you. It is a great bullet and looks good in purple, too.

Those sure look cool. I have been thowing around the idea of powder coating, but I don’t know if I need another project.

The way the .356 is shooting I might just have to find a new home for my .358 Win. I have plenty of brass for the .356 so no worry’s there.
