Do you find it easier or harder to get a nice powder coating on tumble lube designs? I am considering switching over to powder coating, but my mold are of the tumble lube variety, I am wondering if its best to switch to lube groove bullets, or if the tl bullets will do just fine.

I've done both and really didn't notice a difference.

TL has less chance of trapping excess powder in the lube groove

This is kind of what i was wondering. If there would not be a clean fill out, just have clumps of stuff in the TL grooves.

What merlin101 said. Same, no difference. No grooves, TL/micro grooves, lube grooves all powder coat just fine. Don't worry about it.

I dump my pc'd boolits in a colander and shake off the excess powder, 99.9% of the time this clears the lube grooves. if you're standing them up you'll have to tap a couple more time to make sure the grooves a clear. I don't let the groove type determin what boolit I'm using
