Welcome to the forum. The 30 carbine works better with lighter bullets.

I use a Saeco #254 30cal 115gr RNBB With 2400, great plinker boolit. Load enough to cycle the action, the brass goes over the shoulder and ends up in a pile about 5 feet behind and 3 feet to the right.

Where at in Ohio?

I believe the OP was enquiring regarding the use of Alliant 300MP powder in the .30Carbine.
It should be similar to Acc#9 or H110.
Haven’t personally tried any 300MP.

Problem with the plethora of powders available today is memory challenged old guys, they don't recognize these new fangled powder numbers/names:kidding:

I've been playing with different cast boolets for my M1 Carbine.
So far I've found the LEE 309 120 gas check works the best.
Still trying different powders, but it's out shooting all the other boolets I've tried.
I'm thinking it's the gas check.
