Are there enough interested to get a group buy together. These go for way to much when they appear on Ebay. This is a 45 cal gas check semi-wadcutter, apx weight 215 with Lyman #2.

IVe got that mold and i believe its a bevel base not a gas check bullet. It is a real good shootin bullet though. Mine come out a little heavier though at about 220 grain. Are there enough interested to get a group buy together. These go for way to much when they appear on Ebay. Loyd could we possibly be talking about two different molds?? I get 213grs with my pot luck mix, probably 75-80% wheel weights. I added a picture with and without the gas check. My mold is in pretty bad shape. I managed to get the rust out of it but have to live with the pits and rough surface on the slug.

how be dammed i tried to gas check some and they worked just fine all these years ive been shooting that bullet as a bevel base and it even did real well like that. Now theres a versitle bullet. It can be loaded either way and still shoot. I even took some out to the range and with one load that shot 2 inches out of my gun it went 1.5 with a gas check on it.

Harley I haven't had the mold for very long recently landing it on Ebay. I put some through a S&W 1917 and a Model 25-2 out of acp and auto rim brass. Did poorly as expected with the 1917, it likes .454 slugs and these were sized to .452. My 25-2 I recently replaced a damaged rear sight blade and it shot way high and right. When I get a little more time and get it sighted in properly I'll give the slug a chance to see if it is the magic bullet. The gas checked 225 round nose shot more accuratly than any flat base cast slug I've previously used and I'm hoping the swc with a gas check does as well. If I make it to the range next week I'll run some through my 45 autos.
