I was just looking at lyman/rcbs/hornady / saeco tools.
the lyman and rcbs melting pots look very simular as did the old lyman and saeco.
the rcbs and hornady powder measures are identical.
redding and herter scales were identical
the oldest lyman and saeco look the same.
the old mepos luber and the saeco dies are simular
the star luber works much like the mepos.
very interesting.:coffee::coffee::coffee:[smilie=1:

The Ohaus Scale Corporation used to make all the manual balance beam scales for Lyman, RCBS. If you look at the old M4 Lyman and the RCBS 10-10 scale, they were the exact same scale in different colors. I understand that Pact is making electronic scales for themselves and RCBS but I have not checked this out to make sure.

RCBS took over all of Ohaus scale production about 1981. Ohaus left Lyman as they were not up to speed on paying their bills back then. Just who made Herter's, Redding and many other brands of scale using that particulat beam is yet an unsolved mystery.
No patents allowed some folks to copy others design. Saves a lot on development costs. Who ever has the best marketing system wins.

Some of the SAECO scales were made by Pelouse (sometimes spelled Pelouze), which also makes postal scales.

hr.night shift.in NATIONAL RADIO in malden mass.after the tong tools I bought a modern bond press,still have the dies and bronze tong tools.then a tru line jr and then a herter.herter was like Lee inexpensive.the 1968 law killed them.
