What reloading manuals list cast loads if any.

I'm getting ready to build some test loads and don't have data on the weights and powders I'm working with so I'm looking for a better reference.

Right now I've built some loads for my 358 Winchester in my '81 BLR

I've got some cast 237, 250, and 277 grain bullets.
I've built loads for the 237, and 250's, but don't exactly know where to start with the 277's.

Thanks,
Spot

the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook and
The Lyman Reloading Handbook and
Loadbook USA Reloading Guides
one more thing you could do is use same weight jacketed data with the cast ,but this works best with cartridges that have maximum
velocities in the 2200-2400 fps range .
or you could just ask waksupi for 358 win data

Hi Spot, Glad to see you're trying those bullets out. For the heavy ones, just drop about five grains from your 250 gr load, and work up. If that doesn't work, go to something a hair faster. That's what works for me, anyway. You aren't going to find much usefull cast bullet info, in any books, aside from what Nyack suggests, and I find them somewhat conservative.

Can't beat Lyman. However, there are some great buys on e-bay for some of the older Lyman and RCBS cast manuals that you might also be interested in.

I wonder if a 277 gr. bullet will stabilize at .358 Winnie velocities? With a 1 in 12" twist barrel, maybe. Anything slower is doubtful. I have data for a 275 gr. jacketed bullet (First edition Hornady) and the fastest velocity with a max load is 2300 FPS using 1967 era data.

Accurate Arms #2 lists cast data for practically everything listed in the manual.

Get the Lee second edition, about $12 at MidwayUSA, has quite a bit on cast bullet loads.
