Any thoughts on getting a hp conical mold made for us muzzle loader shooters? Is there even a demand large enough to get a group buy together? Let me know what you all think?

Any caliber, I’m just getting the conversation out there to see what people think

I use a standard .40 pistol mold for one of my target underhammers and it does quite well with 40:1 alloy and a wad over the powder. Soft enough to obturate and hold accuracy at 200 yards. Depending on what kind of bullet weight you want, maybe there's a HP pistol mold out there already to suit your needs.

Barrel twist rate and range are big parts of this.

Why not just start with the Hornady Great Plains bullets or molds for same?

Whats the point given soft lead + moderate speed in a blunt form (pick one) = dead critter or paper puncher again pick one :bigsmyl2:

Just as long as there is plenty of weight to make the boolit punch on through and achieve the wanted penetration, a hollow point can be a good assist for a muzzle loader as well as any other firearm being used for hunting.

Never saw the need for a hollowpoint in anything, unless one is just out to destroy meat.
