A duplicate... can't delete, don't know how, not easily determined in edit mode...
I had a Lyman 4-banger 429244 mold that I had never used, and put it on eBay, sold it - and will get it back in a couple of days. Top of the blocks were chipped, so would not cast suitable boolits. My plan is to take it to a machinist and have him mill the tops of the blocks to take out the GC shank, making them PB boolits. Cost might make it silly to do, but... Any comments?

I had a h/g with chips out of the beveled base and had Eric open up the mold to a plan base this took care of the chipped problem , just a thought .

A fly cutter will do the work you want done. I can't imagine it'll take a machinist that long, so cost shoulnd't be terrible. Whether it's worth it or not is hard to say, but it's certainly easy enough.
