I have this 429244 4-banger that I had ever used, and put on eBay, and sold - and will get it back in a day or so. The blocks are chipped on top (minutely, of course, I never noticed), but can't cast good boolits. My idea is to give it to a machinist and have him mill the surface down to get rid of the GC shank, making them PB boolits, and getting rid of the chips. I don't know if it would be worth it, monetarily, but... Any comments?

If it wont make a usable gas check shank, I would mill it down. I've had good luck with plain base 44 boolits sized big.

I have a 429244 SC that has had the gas check shank milled off and then the mold was hollow pointed. Makes a fine 215g boolit but is a lot slower to cast with than my MP 433640L 4 banger!
