I have used the dental film lead also. The dentist told me it was pure lead and seems like pure lead. I'd treat it as that.

I got about 40lbs of it from my dentist a year or so ago. I rendered it into ingots and I'm not sure if it is straight lead. The ingots from the dental lead had a slight ring to them when dropped on concrete as opposed to the dull thud of roofing lead ingots. A friend with a muzzle loader swapped me some lino for it so I never cast anything with it. I was pretty soft and probably very close to straight lead. My dentist was pretty surprised when I told him he'd done 26,000 xrays! I weighed a couple foils and divided into the 43lb total. Nick

Treat as pure lead. Have melted down well over 150 lbs. of the stuff, and the only problem is the little papers that tend to stink when they burn.

HI,
Thanks for the feedback, I think they stink worse than ww too.
I'll treat them as lead.
