You know that you have been casting for a long time when the only thing you used to worry about hardening for decades was your boolits.

You know you have been casting for a long time when a representative from Lyman calls you and asks if they can use one of your Ideal/Barlow moulds to copy the cavity and make a run of moulds!:coffee:

You know you have been casting a long time when; the only mold you could buy was for a round ball.

John.

You can recognize the bullets you pull out of the backstop as your own.

You know you have been casting a long time when you realise that you are using the last of the 14 hickory hammer handles to open molds that ya got at a yard sale in a 5 gallon bucket across the street from where you bought your first electric furnace.

You have worn finger grooves in most your mold handles.

You wake up in a bed full of boolits and don't remember how they got there.

When someone rattles off the six digit Lyman mould number and you don't even have to go to Castpics to look at what the design looks like...you just know.

1. You no longer have finger prints left.

2. You have more lead burn spots than age spots

You find a blister the size of a dime on the far side of your wrist, and become totally befuddled as to how it got there.

You know you have been casting for a long time when your photo looks like Teddy Roosevelt and your best friend is a mule.:Fire::Fire:

You know you have been casting for a long time when you look at 18- 5gal buckets full of ww's in ONE of the sheds, and the walls of your pole barn have enough ingots stacked in them to protect you completely from nuclear fallout.

You know you have been casting for a long time when SWMBO'ed brings lead home for you.....you are truly blessed at that point BTW.

You know you have been casting for a long time when you start selling molds you have triplicate of because you have long ago picked the one that best suits the toy you bought them for.

You know you have been casting for a long time when you finally realize you have enough lead to last you until the age of 150yrs.

You know that you have been casting for a long time when all of the tire shops within a 50 mile radius know you on a first name basis...

and you look wistfully at the lead that counter balances the portable X- ray machine at the local hospital.

You know you have been casting a long time when.......

You walk everywhere head down looking at the gutter hoping to spot WW's.

...when the freezer you use to store moulds in rumbles one day and you find the shelving has collapsed from the weight of the moulds, even the aluminum Lees!

Now please pardon me. I have to go build shelving in my mould freezer!

....when you can identify the burn marks on your skin from spilled and/or splattered lead and you remember the date and type of mold you were using.
