Hey guys I am looking for a mold for my 475 BFR. The pistol really seems to like the Cast Performance 410gr WFNGC bullets. My boxes say sized to .476 too. I was doing some looking but havent found anything very similar to these. If anybody knows where I could get one or if I need to get one made that's fine too. If you have anything your 475 BFR likes i am open to that too. The pistol is putting 5 in under a 3in group at 130yds for me. With a 2x power scope and offhand prone I am very happy with the results. Just like to be able to cast vs pay .50 a piece for the bullets. Any help or ideas would be great.
Thanks,
Adam

My 480 ruger loves the cheap Lee 400 grain wfn I believe you can get it in plain base or gas checked. Mines the plain base.

I was mistaken the 325 grain comes gas checked and 400 grain is plain base
https://leeprecision.com/mold-dc-476-400-rf.html for 25 ish bucks it's worth a try to see if you really need a gas check or if your gun likes it.

The Lee 325 comes out at 340 checked and lubed. The other mold I have is a MiHec 477-640 which drops a 390 HP or a 420 solid.

couple of the best are relatively cheap. the 400 lee rfgc and the 400 rcbs swcgc. Ive owned 3 475 handguns and one rifle and all of them shot those two bullets exceptionaly well. In all reality the 475 is actually tough to find a load with any bullet or powder that shoots like ****.

I had Accurate Molds cut me a 48-395 BG and it shoots fantastic in my BFR. The throats slug at .477 and that's what I size to. The Lee 400 gr PB dropped from the mold way too small. I didn't try the gas checked version. I was after max velocity with Winchester 296 so that's why I went with the checked version.

I made a 440gr pb XLWFN on mountainmolds to fit in my 480 SRH

Still testing as it really just fits in the cylinder. Lee fcd cuts the crimp jump in half but so far so good with 23gr w296

Well I ordered both of the lee molds. Also have a 4x leupold on the pistol now. Still looking for something that matches the CP bullets. Ive just loaded with H110 in this pistol. Is there another powder that seems to be accurate in the 475? I think i have some W296 around i could try. Just got the pistol a couple weeks ago. Starting to play with it some. Very enjoyable to shoot. My first load in this pistol shoots almost twice as good as my 45-70 BFR. Getting frustrated with that pistol. Tried about 40 different loads in it 7-10 different bullets and a bunch of different powders and factory loads. 1.75-2in 5 shot at 60yds is the best I can get it to do. That is scoped also. This 475 gives me a liytle more faith in my shooting. Anybody have any recommendations for the 45-70. Love these BFRs but that one is kind of depressing.

He doesn't us a telephone but is very prompt answering emails and while you are talking to him tell him what you want your 45-70 bullet for and velocity and I bet he can come up with something if he doesn't already have it in his catalog good luck and enjoy those bfr's
