Gentlemen:

The combination of the LEE 228 grain RN, 2-lube groove boolit, and a taper crimp die got my EAA Witness Match .45 feeding and shooting quite well!

The Boolit is lubed w/ 50/50 lube. I have been filing both grooves w/ lube.

The load is 5.6 of HERCO, assembled on a LEE Classic Cast Turret Press, Pro Autodisk powder measurew/ riser tube, 4- die LEE die set ( a LEE Taper Crimp die has bee substituted for the LEE carbide/crimp die)

The EAA Witness Match .45 has one of the smoothest barrels I have ever seen on a .45. There are zero tool marks in the barrel, it's just mirror bright.

After 200 rounds; the barrel interior was perfectly clean, not even any powder residue. However, the feed ramp had quite a bit of bullet lube, also the follower & sides of the magazines had a sticky lube coating. Recovered brass had a sticky lube coat too.

Should I reduce the amount of lube to just the bottom lube groove? Might reducing the amount of lube by 50% induce leading, or cause a reduction in accuracy?

It shoots too good, just clean more!
All of my revolver brass gets full of lube but I would not change for anything because of the accuracy.

You don't know if accuracy will be effected until you try it!!

Now this post makes me sad, you see that Pistols soooooooooo closely resembles the Tan Ultra in 41AE that I lost in the ban  Though mine had the nice wood chequering grips and ported barrel, 4 ports, 2 eitehr side of the foresight. Yes Tanfoglio's do shoot well :-D.

I lube only one groove on that boolit and have no leading problems. DALE That is, since I started sizing .452 instead of .451

Lost... stolen by a bad law more as like! You have my sympathy. :(

Dale, I also size to .452, although the die hardly (barely) touches the sides of the boolit @ all! A Lyman .452 sizer die in a RCBS (Early 80's production) luber/sizer.
